The A.D.S. Board of Directors Meeting was held at the library of the Marine Environmental Sciences Consortium at 1:00 P.M. on April 28, 1979. Those attending were Jim Thompson, Tom and Martha Rogers, Bob Duncan, Bob Reid, Fairly Chandler, Curtis Kingsberry, Dwight Cooley, Douglass McGinty and Harriett Wright. Two new members of the board were introduced, Dwight Cooley and Douglass McGinty. President Jim Thompson announced that because of increased duties in his work he must resign as President of A.D.S. Dwight Cooley who had accepted the nomination as Vice President will assume the office of President of A.D.S. Tom Rogers who has been Vice President will become Editor of Alabama Birdlife.
