Feeding Habits of the Mississippi Kite

Published in 1962

During July 1961, 12 hours. of a five-day, period were spent on the observation of the actlons of the llisS1SS1ppl Klte (Ictinia mississippiensis) on a semi-prairie and meadow area in Montgomery Courity, Alabama. This area is partially surrounded by two rivers and comprises about 1,200 hectares (3,000 acres). The actual feeding area involved was completely bare of trees.
