This study represents a segment of an extensive research program under the direction of Dr. Gordon H. Orians, of the University of Washington, on the ecology of Red-winged Blackbirds, Agelaius phoeniceus, and Yellow-headed Blackbirds, Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus, during their breeding season.
