Owl Researcher Denver Holt is Keynote Speaker at the January 26-28 AOS Meeting near St. Marks NWR, Florida

Registration is now open for the AOS Winter Meeting, to be held this year in Crawfordville, Florida, January 26-28. Owl Researcher Denver Holt, who has spent the last 23 summers studying Snowy Owls in a 100-square-mile study area near Barrow, Alaska, will be the Keynote Speaker.  Holt, who is Founder and President of the Owl Research Institute in Montana, will speak about ‘Adaptation in Owls’ at the AOS Saturday night banquet.  Friday field trips are planned to Bald Point State Park and Edward Ball State Park, which includes Wakulla Springs.  Saturday will feature field trips to St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, which is a celebrated hotspot for wintering waterfowl, raptors, shorebirds, etc.   Wakulla Springs will be the destination for Sunday morning’s field trip.

A block of rooms at the Wildwood Inn has been reserved at a rate of $77, which includes tax. Reservations must be made by January 12, 2018 (two weeks prior) to get this rate as part of the block.
