Help the Education Committee raise funds to purchase birding curriculum for Alabama teachers to teach children about birds and bird watching. One auction item is a weekend getaway at a state park!
The Alabama Ornithological Society’s Education Committee will be facilitating a silent auction at the Spring Meeting on Dauphin Island. The purpose of the auction is to raise funds to purchase Flying Wild bird curriculum to train teachers across the state. We need a minimum of $1,000 to purchase the curriculum and will also need funds to cover shipping and handling. We have several curriculum facilitators across the state who are trained to lead the workshops.
The auction will start Friday evening and end Saturday after dinner. Items already donated in the auction are a bluebird house built by Don Self, a weekend getaway at a state park, field guides, books, carvings, jewelry, and so much more. We are looking for donations of items to include in the auction. If you are not attending the Spring meeting, we accept monetary donations to the Education fund to help train teachers about birds and birdwatching! If you are attending the Spring meeting, bring items to donate and your cash or checkbook. Help us raise money to educate the children of Alabama!
